I have fibromyalgia, and the conventional treatment doesn’t seem to help. Is there an alternative?

Fybromyalgia

From what I have observed in my 25 years of practice, is that there are many conditions in which symptoms are being lump-summed and labeled; yet are nothing more than a list of imbalance that have occurred in a once healthy person because of lack of awareness, knowledge, understanding, and care to the delicate individual.

Whether treating fibromyalgia, CFS, chronic fatigue syndrome, IBS, irritable bowel syndrome, PMS, pre-menstrual syndrome or any other condition; care and attention must be placed on the whole individual rather than spot treating the symptoms of the disease entity.

Why Exercise?

Everyone knows it’s important to exercise, but do you know why? It’s not just about losing weight – exercise has a beneficial impact on every system in your body and can help alleviate numerous conditions.

Here are just a few of the benefits of physical activity:

Allergies – A Naturopath Approach

Allergies – A Naturopath Approach “Oh, it’s just allergies.”  I think I hear this phrase in my office and community about eight times/day.  No one wants to admit to being sick, myself included.  And probably it IS an allergic reaction.  The big question is “to what am I allergic?”  The allergy tests performed by many…

Skin Care and Severe Eczema

Skincare for Children Suffering with Severe Eczema Yesterday I met with a lovely 15 year old boy and his mother.  The boy was very quiet at first yet happy to answer questions and communicate as time went on.  Once I got the gist of the situation with his severe eczema, and inquired if there was anything…

Breast Cancer: Who’s Really At Risk?

Breast Cancer: Who’s Really At Risk?

A recent headline in the New York Times read, “Breast Cancer Drugs Urged for Healthy High-Risk Women.” It immediately caught my attention and made me think, “wait a minute – healthy women are not high risk!” Unfortunately, the conventional medical establishment often becomes so focused on curing one specific disease that they forget that a true state of health comes about by treating the whole body and mind.

The Power of our Thoughts Our human body is a miraculous and mysterious form. It’s estimated that there are well over two billion daily functions that the body performs without us ever consciously asking it to do so. It’s also estimated that the average human being processes at a conscious level over 20,000 thoughts a…

Spend Time with Nature

Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

One of the greatest of life’s pleasures is the enjoyment of nature. Even if it is only for 15 to 20 minute walk in a park or along a river, or perhaps in your own garden, we all need time away from the hustle and bustle of the daily demands from work, family; and the environment: noise, pollutants, crowds, phones, television, traffic, concrete, and steel.

When we go out into nature, we can commune with the elements, connect with the primal force, and listen to the sounds of life.

Become the conductor of your own health – learn the secret of lymph!

Everyone knows that they have a skeletal system and a muscular system – that’s what we use to move. We know we have a respiratory system that helps us breath, a cardiovascular system that pumps blood throughout the body and a nervous system that helps regulate our response to our environment. But that’s not all you need to know…

The lymphatic system is equally crucial for our health and wellbeing. It helps maintain healthy blood and detoxify the body. Without a lymphatic system, the waste produced from daily activities would accumulate in our bodies, causing disease and ultimately death.
