3 Ways to Alleviate Headache Pain
1) Avoid all Exposure to Toxins (Tobacco, licit & illicit drugs, Caffeine or sweet drinks, alcohol, chemicals, odors, fumes, air pollution, mold, etc. Do not breathe, eat, touch toxic materials. Some people are very sensitive to perfumes and cosmetics. Pet Dander can create allergic headaches and lead to viral or bacterial infections.
2) Keep the extremities warm at all times. Cold skin anywhere is abnormal and sends an ‘alarm message’ to the brain. Blood that would be in the large vessels of the extremities if they were warm is driven into the trunk and head because the blood vessels get narrow when chilled. Many people react to chilling of the extremities by getting an elevation of the blood pressure, which may contribute to headaches. Weather changes, especially cold air can cause headaches in susceptible persons. This suggestion applies to those living in colder climates, as well as for Hawaii residents when we have extreme weather changes – temperatures dropping to low 60’s and 70’s. (yes mainlanders – this is cold for us!)
3) Do not consume Heavy or Rich Food. Avoid too much protein, which can give the “protein hangover” or a ketosis headache. As adults, we can get by with less consumption!. Use a lmited quantity and a variety of foods at meals. Use proper food combining. Do not eat late in the evening. Some people can be allergic to dairy products.
